Alzheimer

The Relief Trust (TRT), a non-profit organization is providing Psychosocial Support to the families of Alzheimer’s.
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a condition that causes abnormal changes in the brain mainly affecting memory and other mental abilities. It is a disease and not a normal part of ageing. Loss of memory is the usual first symptom. As the disease progresses, reasoning, language, decision-making, judgment and other critical skills are found to be decreasing making the living impossible without help from others, most often a family member or a friend. Sometimes, but not always, difficult changes in personality and behaviour occur that this makes them more vulnerable situation to both the person and the caregivers. In Nepal, there are 78,000 people with Alzheimer’s. Most of the family members are found be suffering from guilt, loss, grief, sadness, frustration and a huge amount of fear. Till the date there is no organization working to support the families of Alzheimer’s and WE would like to take the initiatives.
The money donated will directly go for the psychosocial support (Individual, family and group counselling with the maximum of sensitization).
