Disability and Inclusion in MPHSS Training
TRT Nepal actively participated in an inclusive mental health and psychosocial support training in Surkhet district from February 28 to 29, 2024 organized by CBM Global and CMC. The training covered critical topics such as the IASC guidelines on emergency settings, definitions of disability, disability models, and the importance of community and organizational actions in the field of mental health and disability in Nepal. Through discussions on Quality Rights Training, building back better, inclusion challenges, and the consequences of exclusion in emergency situations, participants crafted an action plan employing universal design, regional accommodation, a twin-track approach, and key action areas. This pioneering training session, completed for the first time in Nepal, has equipped TRT Nepal with valuable insights and strategies to enhance their work in mental health and psychosocial support, demonstrating a commitment to applying these learnings in real-life situations to benefit the communities they serve.
