Graduation program of Six Month Psychosocial Counseling Trainee (14th batch)

The Relief Trust organize a graduation program to the Six Month Psychosocial Counseling Trainee (14th batch). The certified trainer are now capable to apply necessary skills effectively, provide emotional support to those in need and conduct an awareness program on mental health and stress management. Graduates will also have access to regular supervision session in future.

                                                 

“Orientation program on Psychosocial Well-being of Adolescence”

The Relief Trust conducted an Orientation program on Psychosocial Well-being of Adolescence for the students across different community and private schools of Janakpurdham, Madesh Pradesh. The program aims to enhance student’s understanding of mental health, Stress, coping strategies, thereby promoting their overall psychosocial wellbeing through different yoga and physical exercise.

“4 day Capacity Building of Psychosocial Counselors to Support Children with Visually Challenged”

4 day Capacity Building of Psychosocial Counselors to Support Children with Visually Challenged,” program was conducted on 9-12, Shrawan 2081 (24-27 July 2024) at Hotel View Bhrikuti, Godawari, Lalitpur. Participants from thirteen districts of Nepal join this program. As the training consists of inclusiveness, there were visually impaired and sighted psychosocial counselors during the program.

Disability and Inclusion in MPHSS Training

TRT Nepal actively participated in an inclusive mental health and psychosocial support training in Surkhet district from February 28 to 29, 2024 organized by CBM Global and CMC. The training covered critical topics such as the IASC guidelines on emergency settings, definitions of disability, disability models, and the importance of community and organizational actions in the field of mental health and disability in Nepal. Through discussions on Quality Rights Training, building back better, inclusion challenges, and the consequences of exclusion in emergency situations, participants crafted an action plan employing universal design, regional accommodation, a twin-track approach, and key action areas. This pioneering training session, completed for the first time in Nepal, has equipped TRT Nepal with valuable insights and strategies to enhance their work in mental health and psychosocial support, demonstrating a commitment to applying these learnings in real-life situations to benefit the communities they serve.

Stress Management and Psychological First Aid – PFA (Online Training)

” दु:ख निवारण गुठी (The Relief Trust), in collaboration with UNICEF, conducted training for 120 Nepal Police officers working in different districts of the country under the Directorate of Women, Children, and Senior Citizen Services. The project, titled ‘Improving the psychosocial well-being of disabled children and adolescents through psychosocial support by trained service providers (security personnel and psychosocial counselors),’ involved electronic technology for online training sessions held from February 13, 2024, to March 07, 2024.” at Police Head Quarter, Naxal , Kathmandu.

The Relief Trust (Dhukha Niwaran Guthi) Nepal is a non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1974 (B.S. 2030) in Kathmandu by Late Mr Til Bahadur Lokhsum and his friends for humanitarian service, advocacy and social development, at a time when only very few social service organizations were in existence in Nepal. The Relief Trust (TRT) is registered under the Sanstha Darta Ain, 2034 B.S. in District Administration Kathmandu and affiliated with Social Service Council (No. 15, 1977 A.D.). TRT is tax exempted by In-land Revenue Department, Govt. of Nepal. Consultant for Psychosocial Wellbeing (Numbers-2)
Scope of Work:
As a Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in devising a comprehensive Needs Assessment, crafting training manuals, and conducting training sessions. Your focus will be on empowering service providers, including security personnel and psychosocial counselors, to deliver effective support that enhances the psychosocial wellbeing of children and adolescents, especially those with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
– Develop a thorough Needs Assessment to identify gaps and challenges in current psychosocial support systems.
– Create detailed training manuals tailored to the specific needs and challenges identified.
– Facilitate engaging and informative training sessions for service providers, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality psychosocial support.
– Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
– Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training interventions, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.

Requirements:
– Proven experience in conducting Needs Assessments and developing training materials, preferably in the field of psychosocial support for 10 years.
– Expertise in delivering training sessions and capacity-building initiatives.
– Strong understanding of child and adolescent psychosocial development, with sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
– Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Consultant for Audio-Visual Development (Numbers-1)
Scope of Work:
As a Consultant, you will be responsible for developing engaging audio-visual aids focused on psychosocial wellbeing. Your primary task will be to create visually compelling materials aimed at educating and empowering adolescents on effective stress management techniques. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring that children have enhanced knowledge and skills to manage stress for psychosocial wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the specific needs and preferences of the target audience.
– Ensure conceptualizing, script writing and delivering dialogue along with composition of music for the video.
– Design and develop high-quality audio-visual materials, including videos, animations, and interactive presentations, that effectively convey key concepts related to psychosocial wellbeing.
– Ensure that all content is culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, and accessible to diverse audiences.
– Conduct orientation sessions for adolescents using the visual materials, providing guidance and support on psychosocial wellbeing strategies.
– Monitor the effectiveness of the audio-visual aids and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
– Should have required equipment, location for video shoot and a team to work on graphics, editing, animation and finalization
Demonstrated experience in developing audio-visual content, preferably in the context of psychosocial wellbeing or education.
– Proficiency in multimedia software and tools, such as video editing software, animation software, and graphic design tools.
– Strong understanding of adolescent development and mental health principles, with a focus on stress management techniques.
– Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire youth audiences.
– Creative mindset with a passion for leveraging technology and visual storytelling to drive positive change.
